30 Jan 2024Dr Cheon and the Lost Talisman is a weirdly watchable supernatural joy ride, mired in Korean mythology and mysticism. To a degree this film is inaccessible. Supernatural elements reflect a Korean view of the other worldly, that's not that familiar or comprehensible, to most Western audiences. That being said, what this film does do is present a darkly humorous, entertaining supernatural joy ride that's kind of a similar to Ghost Busters, India Jones and series like Supernatural but at the same time, very different. Its certainly entertaining for the most part, with decent atmosphere, action and acting to back up its at times, strangely complex story. In summary, an entertaining departure from your standard western supernatural fair. Certainly worth a look.
