Barren Land

Cádiz (Andalusia, South to Spain). In a coastal city that its ports and docks are the key to control all the goods and merchandise landed there, live three lifelong friends: Mateo, Juan and Benito. Mateo is a Galician (nicknamed 'Gallego' because of it) who works as captain of the Civil Guard, charged with the task to stop the emerging drug-trafficking in the city. Juan, a Basque-born former fisher and drug dealer too tries to survive in a bad time without legal work, who starts to have serious troubles with Hoffman, another drug dealer who aspires to rule the whole city. And between Mateo and Juan is Benito, nicknamed 'Yeye', who lives at the edge of the poverty in bad conditions as property and evidence custodian, a thing that his girlfriend Clau can't handle any longer. When Hoffman tries to kill Juan, the situation becomes each time more unbalanced and the escalation of violence threats to explode for everyone.
